About Course

Grade 7 marks the beginning of Junior Secondary School and introduces students to a deeper, more analytical way of thinking. They move from simply recalling facts to applying concepts, making connections across subjects, and developing stronger critical thinking skills. The curriculum encourages independence, responsibility, and preparation for more advanced academic work.

Course Content

English
Develops comprehension, vocabulary, grammar, and writing skills through literature, essays, debates, and creative expression. Students learn to analyze texts and communicate ideas clearly.

  • ENGLISH

MATH
Focuses on algebra, geometry, statistics, and introductory trigonometry. Emphasis on problem-solving, logical reasoning, and application of mathematical concepts in real life.

SCIENCE
Covers biology, chemistry, and physics basics — including cells, ecology, matter, energy, forces, and the scientific method. Students conduct hands-on experiments to understand concepts.

READING
Students enhance their comprehension skills by engaging with a variety of literary and informational texts. They analyze themes, character development, and author’s purpose while learning to cite evidence to support their understanding. Vocabulary is expanded through context clues and word analysis, and students practice summarizing, making inferences, and evaluating different perspectives in texts.

Social Studies
Explores history, civics, culture, and government. Students learn about Nigerian history, global events, and the responsibilities of citizenship.
